Seasonal Flu Immunisations
The Immunisation service is currently planning the 2025 Seasonal Childhood Flu programme which we have been advised will include all children from Reception to Year 11.
The seasonal flu programme helps protect children against flu, which can be very unpleasant and lead to complications like bronchitis and pneumonia.
The flu vaccine not only helps to prevent the transmission of flu to the wider community, including older family members and new-born babies who may have a weaker immune system, but research by Public Health England has shown that the flu vaccine programme has reduced the number of people visiting their GP or emergency departments with flu. Research has also showed that vaccinating school aged children reduces pupil and staff absences.
If any parents have any queries or concerns, please get in touch on the number or email below or visit:
We would like to thank you for your continued help and support with delivering the vaccination programme protecting individuals and the community against infectious disease.
Kind Regards,
Immunisation Team
