Progress of Key Stage 4 students in 2025
Progress 8 was +0.6 for 2024
Progress 8 (P8) score is a national measure of the academic progress that pupils make from the end of key stage 2 to the end of key stage 4. This is based on 8 qualifications.
Progress 8 (P8) score is a national measure which uses students' Key Stage 2 SATs results as its starting point. Since the SATs were cancelled in 2020, there is no P8 for the Year 11 students in 2025, as there is no starting point to measure progress from.
We are, however, still very proud of our most recent P8 - from 2024. The banding for Bordesley Green Girls’ School was ‘well above average’ because the score was greater than 0.5. Our Progress 8 of +0.6 was well above both the national figure for P8 in 2024 of -0.03 and the Birmingham P8 of +0.06.
We are particularly proud of the fact that in 2024, our disadvantaged students achieved a Progress 8 of +0.52, which is very close to the overall progress 8, showing we do not have a disadvantage gap at our school. Bordesley Green Girls’ School was in the top 93 schools nationally for Progress 8 for disadvantaged students in 2024.
Breadth of Curriculum: EBacc
At Bordesley Green Girls’ School, 89% of pupils entered the EBacc; this is significantly above both the Birmingham figure, (46.4%), and the national figure, (40.4%). This puts us in the top 10 of all Birmingham schools for EBAcc entry, above many of the grammar schools.
