Congratulations to our students in Year 13 for excellent results in their A Levels and BTEC Level 3 courses!

Over a third of all BGGS students' results, (35%), were at the top grades of A* to B, and Distinction* (compared with 30% grades at A* to B in 2019).  Overall, 62.8% of results were graded A*- C, with our students’ pass rate being 95%

Nationally, grades have dropped this year, following grades rises seen over the post-pandemic period. This same trend has been shown here: our grades this year are in line with our 2019 grades.

In and amongst these figures are some outstanding individual performances, with 12 students securing top grades of A*/ A and Distinction* overall in their qualifications.

We are equally as proud of other students who have exceeded all expectations in gaining excellent grades that will now see them progress to the university course of their choice or employment. Students have secured places on to a range of courses: Dentistry, Aerospace Engineering, Economics, Primary Education, Counselling, Law, Nursing, Optometry and Pharmacy.  A large proportion of students have secured their first choice on university place.

A few outstanding performances:

  • Aysha achieved triple Distinction* in BTEC Extended Diploma Health & Social Care and will now study  at Birmingham City University
  • Rafel achieved A*AA  in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics and is now looking forward to studying Dentistry.
  • Bibi and Hawwa both achieved triple Distinction* in BTEC Extended Diploma Health & Social Care and are excited about studying Midwifery and Psychology respectively.
  • Mehek was delighted to confirm her place at university to study Aerospace Engineering after achieving the top grades of A*, A, A and B in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and EPQ.
  • Saffanah and Asma also achieved top grades in their A Level subjects to proceed onto universities of their choice to study Pharmacy and Primary Education respectively.

The University of Birmingham, Aston University and Birmingham City University were the most popular destinations, but some students are going further afield to Kings College, London, and Glasgow.

Staff at Bordesley Green Girls' School are extremely proud of our students' A level and BTEC results.  As a school we take pride in our commitment to all aspects of our learners’ education, providing career guidance and supporting them with their post 18 choices. Our responsibility to our students does not end on Results Day; we will continue to support them in any future endeavors as well!
